You’ll build on your strengths, increasing your skillset across the product spectrum (UX, UI, IX, and visual design) to become a more versatile designer. We don’t like to say “unicorn”
Build, measure, learn—you’ll work on a wide range of projects at a fast-pace, product-focused startup. It’ll be challenging but rewarding.
You’ll have studio days to experiment and learn alongside Whitespace Fellows and design mentors. This is where you’ll make life-long friends and connections.
When I moved to San Francisco, I had 2 degrees in design, but zero experience working in a startup environment. Being the first or second designer on a small, pre-product team that is moving at lightning speed was terrifying. Before Whitespace, small startups weren’t even on my radar. Whitespace gave me a rock solid support group of peers and phenomenal design mentors to lean on during my learning curve, and introduced me to the company of my dreams.
Whitespace is an amazing product design program! I got the opportunity to work at a startup with a wickedly talented team for 12 weeks — solving meaningful problems and actually see my designs ship. The instructional team are beyond amazing in the development of my design path.
Whitespace allowed me to ask questions, search for answers, and receive mentorship. I grew exponentially at a pace that I could handle. The answers were never handed to me, rather they guided me to find them on my own. Because of that, I found that the method of combining teaching and working on hands-on projects sky-rocketed my learning.
